Matthew is back at it again with his lovingly mutated, rules-bending custom Tyranid swarm - still rocking that third edition codex and absolutely reveling in the freedom to invent new species like "murdergaunts" (because Hormagaunts just weren't angry enough). Across the table, Ben returns from Nevahda (pronunciation pending) with a full-on Salamanders strike force, complete with a Force Commander who definitely isn't Adrax Agatone, two very punchy Dreadnoughts, and a Land Raider full of flamers and dreams. It's fourth edition Warhammer 40k, which means no pre-measuring, templates that are both devastating and hilariously awkward, and vehicles that can go from "rampaging war machines" to "immobile bricks" with the roll of a couple venom cannon dice. As Matthew's winged monstrosities swarm across the battlefield, Ben's brave Nocturne-born marines dig in to protect the central objective - and their own pride.
